Directors Message
Music is the medium, through which one can express his thoughts
and feelings. It is the sum total of the experiences and emotions
which are not bound by time, community and rationality. It is the
universal language of the pious souls of all times and places. The
three fold arts of music namely Vocal Music, Instrumental Music and
Dance have varied from time to time and space to space according to
the aesthetic taste and likings of the people.
In India, in particular: Music has been cultivated as an art for
at least three thousand years. Immediately after Independence Pandit
Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first prime minister of the National Govt. of
India began paying attention to fine arts and specially to Music. He
took pains for the promotion of this art by introducing the same as
a subject in the curriculum and courses of studies in all stages
beginning from the Primary Section to the Doctorate Level.
Having a good inspiration from Pandit ji, we have started
SARASWATI SANGEET MAHAVIDHYALAYA in 1970. An institute of Indian
classical music and instrumental music from Primary Level to
Doctorate Level, affiliated from a recongnised university, Prayag
Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad,, UP.
